The Newent Onion Fayre is Gloucestershire, premier one day
free event attracting some 15,000 members of the public. The event dates back
hundreds of years having been revived some 21 years ago and now attracts
national media attention including television, radio and news print and it is
believed to be unique in the UK.
The format is a
vibrant one day event between 10am and 5pm held in the streets of the
Gloucestershire market town of Newent with the 2018 date confirmed as Saturday
8th September. Main attractions include the Onion Show and Onion Eating
competition, a large Food and Drink Festival, Dog Show and Live Music across 3
Stage’s as well as over 150 Stalls and Fairground Rides. The Web Site attracts
some 300,000 hits per year providing many organizations an excellent platform
to promote themselves and BBC Radio Gloucestershire broadcast live throughout
the day.They can offer level hard standing for the show vehicles right at the heart of the event within 30m of the Main Stage and by the Onion Show itself so it is sure to be a popular attraction.
